About us

With the aim of creating an innovative company, on May 23rd, 1945, Mr. Humberto Lobo Villarreal founded the first Protexa factory, marking a milestone in the industrial boom of Monterrey and contributing to the creation of a broad productive chain in Mexico.

Today we are a company solidly grounded with +75 years of knowledge and experience in the industrial, energy and real estate sectors. Our constant innovations and accumulated experience allowed us to multiply our expansion from Nuevo León to other ten Mexican states, with operations throughout the country and Latin America.

We move forward, strengthening our corporate governance and the contribution of our independent advisors, to detect new business opportunities to consolidate our sustainability strategy and honor Protexa’s unique legacy.

Industries

We were born as an innovative waterproofing systems factory and manufacturing continues today. Our waterproof coatings are the best in Mexico.

We have the two largest production facilities in the country for the application of electrophoretic and electrostatic paint, which serve global companies in the automotive industry.

We also manufacture fiberglass veil at our plant in Nuevo León, which is the first and only one in the country to elaborate this kind of product.

In addition to our lines of business, we operate six vehicle environmental verification centers in Mexico City.

Energy

We are the first Mexican company to carry out offshore drilling operations with jack-up rigs.

We build pipelines, interconnect offshore superstructures, build highly complex civil works projects and provide maintenance services for offshore, onshore and underwater infrastructure.

We also provide comprehensive fluid services to drill, repair and correct termination for oil wells, whether exploratory or for production.

The experience, high-tech execution capacity and professional solvency of our staff make us the leading company in Mexico and Latin America for the execution of hydrocarbon industry exploration, extraction and offshore infrastructure installation work.

History

Protexa was born thanks to the innovative vision of Mr. Humberto Lobo Villarreal, who on May 23rd, 1945, founded the first company of the group. It was only dedicated to the manufacture of waterproofing systems.

Over more than 75 years we have diversified and expanded our business presence to Mexico and Latin America.
